Subject: Drawing a railing



Railings can be drawn in different styles such as standard, bollard, vertical or hori­zontal cable, and many more.

After you draw a railing, you can modify it as you would other entities using modify entity commands. For example, standalone railings can be easily moved and resized. You can also use the Properties pane to change the style, rail height, post placement, etc. And when you select a railing, grips display allowing you to resize and reorient the railing in real-time.

To draw a railing attached to stairs

   1   Do one of the following to choose Railings ():

   On the ribbon, choose Draw > Railings and then the railing style (in AEC Entities).

   On the menu, choose Draw > AEC Entities > Railings and then the railing style.

   On the Railings toolbar, click a railing style.

   Type railing and then press Enter.

   2   Choose Attach.

   3   Specify the stairs where you want to attach a railing.

   4   Choose the location of the railing on the stairs: left, right, or center.

To draw a railing that is not attached to stairs

   1   Do one of the following to choose Railings ():

   On the ribbon, choose Draw > Railings and then the railing style (in AEC Entities).

   On the menu, choose Draw > AEC Entities > Railings and then the railing style.

   On the Railings toolbar, click a railing style.

   Type railing and then press Enter.

   2   Specify the start point where you want to locate the railing.

   3   Specify additional points to create railing segments.

   4   After specifying the last point, press Enter.
