Options - Snapping tab



Use this tab to modify the settings for fly-over snapping. Fly-over snapping is a visual aid to help you see and use entity snaps more efficiently.

To change the options on the Snapping tab, click the Snapping tab, and then select the options you want. Click OK when you are finished.

DIALOG BOX OPTIONS

Show Snap Setting on Cursor Displays an extra icon on the cursor to show which entity snap is active. This option is available even if fly-over snapping is turned off.

Enable Fly-Over Snapping Turns on fly-over snapping.

Display Tooltips Turns on the fly-over snap tooltips, which indicate the type of snap that was used to select the marked location.

Display Snap Aperture Box Turns on the fly-over snap aperture box, which displays on the cursor when you select an entity snap. Entities found within the aperture box are available for selection, making it easier to find and select entity snap points.

Size Select the size of the aperture box. Higher numbers increase aperture box size, which increases the distance from the cursor in which entities are found.

Display Snap Markers Turns on the fly-over snap markers, which mark snap points on entities.

Draw Snap Markers in All Views Turns on the display of fly-over snap markers in all views when you are using more than one viewport.

Color Allows you to choose the color of the fly-over snap marker.

Size Select the size of the fly-over snap marker.

Thickness Select the thickness of the fly-over snap marker.

Hatch Entities Turns on entity snapping to hatches.

Dimension extension lines Turns on entity snapping to dimension extension lines.

Negative Z Values when Using a Dynamic UCS Turns on entity snapping to entities that have a negative z value when using a dynamic UCS.

Snapping to Underlays Select how entity snapping works for files that are attached as underlays to drawings: no snapping, snapping is turned on for all underlays, or snapping is turned on but varies according to the file type.

PDF Files Turns on entity snapping to .pdf files that are attached to drawings. This option is available only if entity snapping to underlays is turned on.

DWF Files Turns on entity snapping to .dwf files that are attached to drawings. This option is available only if entity snapping to underlays is turned on.

DGN Files Turns on entity snapping to .dgn files that are attached to drawings. This option is available only if entity snapping to underlays is turned on.

IFC Files Turns on entity snapping to .ifc files that are attached to drawings. This option is available only if entity snapping to underlays is turned on.

RVT Files Turns on entity snapping to .rvt and .rfa files that are attached to drawings. This option is available only if entity snapping to underlays is turned on.
