Section Line: SECTIONLINE

()

Ribbon: Draw > Section Line (in AEC Entities)

Menu: Draw > AEC Entities > Section Line

Keyboard: _SECTIONLINE

Creates a section line which determines a two-dimensional projection of the area you want to view. The section line is a polyline that can consist of continuous segments that define the area you want to view. After you draw a section line in your drawing, you can modify its segments and length, then update the two-dimensional projection view. You can also modify the section symbol that marks the section line, including the label text. Note that the symbol is annotative and can be scaled.

Specify start point: Select the start point of the section line.

Specify next point: Select the end point of each segment, then press Enter when done.

Keep all hidden lines? [Yes/No]: To turn on the visibility of hidden lines, choose No. To keep hidden lines invisible, choose Yes.

Specify insertion point: Select the insertion point of the two-dimensional projection.

Use the AECAUTOUPDATE system variable to control automatic updating.
If AECAUTOUPDATE is set to 1, two-dimensional projection views update automatically after a section line or elevation line changes. If set to 0, you need to manually refresh projection views after changes: right-click the projection view and choose Refresh.
