Input Search Options (command line version): INPUTSEARCHOPTIONS



Keyboard: -_INPUTSEARCHOPTIONS (or INPUTSEARCHOPTIONS for dialog box version)

Alias: AUTOCOMPLETE

Determines how command names are suggested when typing in the command bar.

Enter an input search Option [autoComplete/Delay/Minimum text length/System variables/Aliases/Irx commands/Lisp commands]: Choose which option you want to set.

To turn AutoComplete on or off

Choose autoComplete.

Automatically complete a command as you type? Choose Yes or No.

To set the delay between keystrokes before the AutoComplete window displays

Choose Delay.

Specify the delay time in seconds: Enter the number of milliseconds to wait between keystrokes before displaying the AutoComplete window. The higher the number, the longer the delay allowed between keystrokes (the AutoComplete window display less frequently). For example, if you are a fast typist and the AutoComplete window conflicts with your typing in the command bar, try setting the number of milliseconds to 1,000 or more.

To set the minimum text length required before the AutoComplete window displays

Choose Minimum text length.

Specify the minimum text length to show the suggestions list: Enter the number of letters to be typed in the command bar before the AutoComplete window displays.

To set whether system variable names display

Choose System variables.

Search system variables as you type? Choose Yes or No. Selecting Yes includes system variables in the list of suggested names each time the AutoComplete window displays.

To set whether alias names display

Choose Aliases.

Search LISP as you type? Choose Yes or No. Selecting Yes includes includes aliases in the list of suggested names each time the AutoComplete window displays.

To set whether IRX command names display

Choose Irx commands.

Search IRX commands as you type? Choose Yes or No. Selecting Yes includes IRX command names in the list of suggested names each time the AutoComplete window displays.

To set whether LISP command names display

Choose Lisp commands.

Search LISP as you type? Choose Yes or No. Selecting Yes includes includes LISP functions in the list of suggested names each time the AutoComplete window displays. If set to Yes, LISP functions display when you enter a parenthesis, "(", when first typing.
