Places markers along a selected entity. The markers evenly divide the entity into the specified number of equal parts. You can divide lines, arcs, circles, ellipses, polylines, or splines. The markers are point entities or blocks.

 

 

  1. Select the entity you want to divide.

Select entity to divide: Select the entity you want to divide.

Blocks ◆ <Number of segments>: Enter the number of segments by which you want the selected entity divided. The minimum is 2; the maximum is 32,767.

To divide the entity using blocks (rather than point entities), choose Blocks.

To use blocks as division markers

To use a block as a division marker, the block must already exist.

 

 

  1. Select the entity you want to divide.
  2. The blocks are placed equidistant along the entity.

Choose Blocks.

Name of block to insert: Enter the name of the block you want used to divide the entity.

Align blocks with entity? <Y>: To align the blocks with the entity being divided, choose Yes. This option places the x-axis of the block tangent to the entity. If you do not want the block aligned with the entity, choose No. This option aligns the blocks according to their normal orientation.

Number of segments: Enter the number of segments by which you want the entity divided. The minimum is 2; the maximum is 32,767.
