Displays the Extract Attributes dialog box so you can extract attribute data (informational text) to a DXF or TXT file on disk.

Dialog Box Options

Select To select one or more blocks containing attributes, click Select. The dialog box temporarily disappears and you are prompted to select entities. Select only blocks containing attributes; any other entity is rejected, including a block containing no attributes.

Format of Extracted Text File To export the attributes in DXF format, select Extract in Drawing Exchange Format; no template drawing is required. To export attributes in a format where commas separate values, select Extract in Comma Delimited Format. To export attributes in a format where spaces separate values, select Extract in Space Delimited Format.

Template File Specify the name of the template file, which is required for Comma Delimited and Space Delimited formats. No template file is used by the DXF export format. You must create a template file before you use the Extract Attributes command. To select the file name from Template File dialog box, click Browse.

Output File Specify the name of the output file, which is required for all formats. To select the file name from the Output File dialog box, click Browse.

Extract To extract attributes from the selected blocks, click Extract.


NOTE  Before you can extract an attribute, you must take two actions: (1) you must insert the attributes into the drawing as a block; and (2) you must define the template file.
