Allows you to align selected entities with other entities in three-dimensional space. You select the entities you wish to move and align, then you specify one, two, or three pairs of points to align the selected entities.

  • One pair of points — Moves selected entities.
  • Two pairs of points — Moves then rotates selected entities. The second pair of points can also determine the scale of the moved entities (scaling is available only when using two pairs of points).
  • Three pairs of points — Moves, rotates, then again rotates selected entities.

FILter/<Select entities>: Select the entities you want to move and align, and then press Enter. Do not include destination entities in the selection set. Choose FILter to filter the selection by properties.

To align entities by moving them

Specify first source point: Select the source point of the selected entities you want to move.

Specify first destination point: Select the destination point, then press Enter.

The selected entities move from the source point to the destination point.

To align entities by moving and rotating them

Specify first source point: Select the source point of the selected entities you want to move.

Specify first destination point: Select the destination point, then press Enter.

Specify second source point: Select the second source point, which determines the point from which the entities will rotate.

Specify second destination point: Select the second destination point, which determines the point to which the entities will rotate, then press Enter.

Scale objects based on alignment points [Yes/No] <No>: Choose Yes to scale the selected entities, or Choose No. If scaling, the selected entities scale proportionately so that the distance between the two source points is the same as the distance between the two destination points.

The selected entities move from the first source point to the first destination point. then they rotate from the second source point to align with the second destination point. The selected entities are then scaled, if chosen.

To align entities by moving and then rotating them twice

Specify first source point: Select the source point of the selected entities you want to move.

Specify first destination point: Select the destination point, then press Enter.

Specify second source point: Select the second source point, which determines the point from which the entities will rotate.

Specify second destination point: Select the second destination point, which determines the point to which the entities will rotate.

Specify third source point: Select the third source point, which determines the point from which the entities will rotate a second time.

Specify third destination point: Select the third destination point, which determines the point to which the entities will rotate a second time, then press Enter.
